Mission Statement

About Green Bay Lightning

The Green Bay Lightning Soccer Club (Lightning) provides the youth of the greater Green Bay, Wisconsin area an opportunity to enhance and enrich their soccer experience through quality soccer programs, training, coaching, and facilities.

Our mission is to develop youth soccer players to the best of their abilities and prepare them to play at the highest level at which an individual player desires to participate, consistent with their playing ability and commitment.

Lightning was founded in 1990 by a group of dedicated soccer parents who wanted to give their children an opportunity to play soccer at a higher level. The club has grown and now operates as a non-profit organization managed by a traditional board of directors structure.

The clubs purpose is to:
  1. Provide community select soccer teams, beneficial administration, quality coaching, quality facilities, and to support the total community soccer program.
  2. Develop skilled, confident and creative players
  3. Make the game fun to practice and play
  4. Teach good sportsmanship and respect for all
  5. Value winning but not more than character and performance
  6. Seek the strongest level of competition whenever possible
  7. Give players the tools they need to compete and succeed in high school and beyond

Teams participate in the East Central Soccer District which is part of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). The club colors are maroon, gray, and white.
